Tropical Storm Nicole – Update 4 – 11/10/2022

University of Florida officials are actively monitoring Tropical Storm Nicole. Here is what we know today: Alachua County, which includes Gainesville, remains under a Tropical Storm Warning as of the 7 a.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center. Forecasters said Nicole has the potential to bring winds of 40 to 50 mph, with gusts of up to 70 mph, to Alachua County. University of Florida officials are actively monitoring Tropical Storm Nicole. Here is what we know today: Alachua County, which includes Gainesville, remains under a Tropical Storm Warning, as of the 10 a.m., advisory of the National Hurricane Center. Classes canceled, Gainesville campus closed Thursday

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff, Out of an abundance of caution, all classes at the University of Florida campus in Gainesville will be canceled and offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 10, because of Tropical Storm Nicole. Subtropical Storm Nicole – Update 2 – 11/8/2022

University of Florida officials are actively monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole. While much remains unknown about the storm’s path, here is what we know today:   On Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center issued a Hurricane Warning for the east coast of Florida, from Boca Raton to the Flagler-Volusia county line. University of Florida officials are actively monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole. While much remains unknown about the storm’s path, here is what we know today:  The National Hurricane Center issued a Hurricane Watch for the East Coast of Florida from the Volusia-Brevard county line to Hallandale Beach and for Lake Okeechobee. Additionally, a Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the majority of the East Coast of Florida.   A Tropical Storm Watch means tropical storm conditions are possible within 48 hours, while a Hurricane Watch means hurricane conditions are possible. Classes and all academic and student-related activities, including online classes, at the University of Florida campus in Gainesville will resume and campus will re-open and return to normal operating status on Saturday, Oct. 1. UF Health personnel, UF/IFAS personnel and others at locations throughout the state should continue to follow their local government’s guidance and check with their supervisors for information regarding reopening of their work locations. Hurricane Ian – Final Update – 9/30/2022

University of Florida officials are monitoring Hurricane Ian. Here is what we know today: The National Hurricane Center canceled all hurricane and tropical storm watches and warnings for the Florida peninsula as Hurricane Ian continued to move north on Friday toward South Carolina. Forecasters expect for some gusty winds to continue across North Central and Northeast Florida, and gradually decrease as the day continues.
