Tropical Storm Eta – Update #1 – 11/4/2020

University of Florida officials are actively monitoring Tropical Storm Eta, and much remains unknown about the storm’s path.  Here’s what we know today: Through Sunday morning, heavy rainfall from Eta will lead to catastrophic, life-threatening flash flooding and river flooding across portions of Central America. Eta is expected to become a tropical depression tonight. Eta is forecast to regain tropical storm strength before it moves across portions of Cuba and approaches southern Florida this weekend. Hurricane Zeta – Update #4 – 10/28/2020

University of Florida officials are continuing to monitor Hurricane Zeta. Here’s what we know today: A life-threatening storm is expected along portions of the northern Gulf Coast beginning later today. The National Hurricane Center projects Zeta will make a landfall this afternoon and a second landfall this evening in Mississippi before moving rapidly over southeastern Mississippi, Alabama and northern Georgia overnight. Tropical Storm Zeta – Update #3 – 10/27/2020

University of Florida officials are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Zeta. Here’s what we know today: Heavy rainfall is expected across Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, the Cayman Islands, and western Cuba, which could lead in to flash flood in urban areas.  Zeta is expected to strengthen back into hurricane today. The National Hurricane Center projects a landfall Wednesday evening as a Category 1 hurricane on the coasts of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi. Here’s what we know today: Hurricane conditions and dangerous storm surge are expected in portions of the northern Yucatan Peninsula tonight and early tomorrow. Tropical storm conditions could occur over extreme western Cuba. Flood watches continue through the evening in South Florida for Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. Here’s what we know today: Hurricane Delta has strengthened rapidly over the last 24 hours and is now a Category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds near 130 mph. The storm will move over the Yucatan Peninsula early Wednesday. Here is what we know today: Hurricane Sally made landfall this morning near the Florida/Alabama line, bringing significant flooding and rainfall to the Panhandle.
